Edit PDF Online with OCR — Free, Private, In-Browser

PDFRox is a free online PDF editor with built-in OCR (optical character recognition). Open any PDF and edit its text, fill out forms, sign documents, add images, draw shapes, annotate, and merge files — all without uploading anything to a server. Need to edit text in a PDF image or a scanned PDF? Run OCR on the page or image, and every line becomes its own editable text box.

About OCR Text Extraction

Many PDFs contain text that's actually a picture — scans, screenshots, photos of forms, image-only exports. A standard editor can't change those words because they're not text, they're pixels. PDFRox solves that with browser-side OCR: it reads the image, finds each line of writing, and turns it back into editable text positioned exactly where it appeared.
